One of the most important issues that managers face when facing high uncertainty in the supply chain is the lack of inventory levels when receiving unpredictable demand, which leads to an increase in the cost of the entire supply chain.
This research aims to select the appropriate scenario in inventory replenishment based on (R,Q) policy in the supply chain of electricity distribution companies, whose model is defined based on the objectives of minimizing the total cost of inventory, the average level of inventory on hand and the proportion of unmet customer demand.
For this purpose, the design of experiments was used to create scenarios of the model, the results of each of which were obtained by applying the discrete event simulation method, and then the multi-criteria decision-making method was used to analyze the scenarios, as well as the required data through searching in organizational documents and interviews with industry experts were collected.
The findings of the research indicate that the middle limit of the optimal order point values and the order amount for the first product in two retailers and their upper limit for the second product in two retailers have led to a reduction in the costs of the investigated model. Among the other results of this research is that as the reorder point of the first product and the order amount of the second product decrease, the cost of the supply chain increases.
