In the science of data envelopment analysis (DEA), units that are located on the efficient frontier, their performance value is one hundred percent or in other words, they are efficient. But in this kind of evaluation, standard criteria for inputs and outputs are not considered. Thus, in this paper a method is presented that uses DEA models to evaluate decision-making units based on comparisons with standard inputs and outputs. Since we may encounter with negative data, it is shown that how evaluation is done optimally with negative data using specific models and some innovations in DEA. A numerical example and its implementation for a real industrial field show the efficiency of the proposed method. Also, the comparison of results with two specified methods for negative data in DEA shows the efficiency of the proposed method.
